The Queer Judgments Project (QJP) is an initiative that evolved from disparate conversations between the current co-editors about how legal judgments related to sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, and sex characteristics (SOGIESC) could have been written in more appropriate terms in light of the legal framework at the time. We wanted to cultivate a project that brought together friends, colleagues, and activists who were interested in improving and challenging the law and its application to make life better for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer and other (LGBTIQ+) people and communities.

Directed, photographed and edited by Isabel Soloaga at the University of Sussex School of Law, Politics and Sociology, where she also serves as a Research Fellow. Learn more about the project here.

The torch has been relit! The trailblazers of the American Reggae scene, John Brown’s Body have returned to the stage. The group includes founding members Kevin Kinsella (vocals), Tommy Benedetti (drums), and Lee Hamilton (saxophone), plus veterans Nate Edgar (bass), Jon Pentonzio (keys) and TJ Schaper (trombone), as well as newcomer Van Gordon Martin (guitar).

After a hiatus from the road and studio, members of the various incarnations of the JBB family reunited in early 2023 for a select run of shows in upstate New York. Longtime lead singer Elliot Martin passed the torch back to original lead singer Kevin Kinsella to continue the legacy of JBB music. After an enthusiastic response from both band members and fans, the group looks forward to bringing more music to the stage in 2026.

Some of America's last truly wild horses live on our western public lands. They live in deeply bonded family bands within a complex society of intricate relationships. And they are in danger of being 'managed' into extinction. Edited and graded by Isabel Soloaga.

The Cloud Foundation is a Colorado 501(c)3 non-profit organization that grew out of founder and documentarian Ginger Kathrens’ knowledge of wild horses in the West.

Coastal Futures in Motion: A collaboration with the University of Chicago and Betsy Priem, PhD candidate in Sociology, to visualize climate change adaptation strategies along California’s coastline to life. Using stunning drone footage, we’re visualizing how communities, policymakers, and ecosystems are responding to rising seas and coastal erosion. Betsy’s NSF- and NISS-funded research on governance, risk, and decision-making frames the story, blending rigorous social science with breathtaking visuals to make the impacts—and solutions—of climate change tangible.
